Each day on this working farm we celebrate the seed to table journey of our food. Although rooted in the past, our farm blends traditional methods with advanced hydroponics and aquaculture technologies to inspire delicious discoveries.

Discover! The Greenhouses of Southall stand tall at the farm entrance as beacons of our seed to table mission. On one side is our 5,000-square-foot propagation greenhouse where annual food producers – including native flowers, shrubs, trees, and delicious citrus – thrive. On the other is our majestic 10,000-square-foot hydroponic greenhouse, where a bio-controlled system produces hundreds of pounds of nutrient-rich lettuces and leafy greens that grace our menus daily.

Reflect! Overlooking Lake Mishkin, the Southall orchard is perched atop the south side of our cedar glade ridge. The orchard is home to over 1,500 apple trees with dozens of varietals, both sweet and tart. The trees are all espaliered on trellises, an ancient technique designed to give fruit-heavy branches the support, air flow, and sunlight they need to thrive. A delight for all the senses, the orchard is a lovely backdrop for an afternoon picnic or peaceful contemplation.

Adventure! Whether you prefer to fish or float, our outfitters delight in helping guests truly experience Lake Mishkin. This man-made lake at Southall is in many ways the center of life on the farm – home to countless species of wildlife and the place where people discover magic: a first fish, a restful float, a quiet sunset. Far more than a scenic backdrop, the lake’s reservoir collects water during the wet season and irrigates the property when dry.

Wander! The several miles of thoughtfully developed trail system that winds through Southall affords a pleasant walk through a peaceful wooded landscape to the top of the property. Along the way enjoy wildlife and natural features unique to Southall: jutting rainbowed layers of dirt and rock and “trophy trees” – including walnut, beech, buckeye, and persimmon.

Splash! In the midst of Southall’s bucolic setting, our expansive, heated outdoor pool beckons. Come enjoy farm and lake views and take a refreshing dip. Our full service bar serves handcrafted cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages, as well as a menu of satisfying snacks and refreshing treats like popsicles and ice cream.

Heal! Like the land, the Spa at Southall is restorative and replenishing. Treatments and experiences are designed to calm and nourish mind and body, restore peace and confidence. In both indoor and outdoor spaces, our spa experts employ ancient techniques and modern therapies that integrate botanicals and other natural ingredients inspired by, and derived from, our farm.

Transform! Located on the patio of the Southall Spa, our heated mineral pool uses a hand-harvested mineral wellness soak created by Kerstin Florian. The soak features six important minerals, including colloidal silver for soft, smooth skin and organic lithium to lift the spirits. Our mineral pool wellness soak will detoxify, remineralize, and rebalance your body.
