The Orchard

Overlooking Lake Mishkin, our orchard with approximately 1,300 apple trees is situated on a terraced hillside on the south side of our cedar glade ridge. Featuring 43 varieties, it boasts both sweet and tart apples, some bred over generations for a unique flavor profile and for firmness, longevity, or use in various ciders. The trees are espaliered on trellises, an ancient technique designed to give fruit-heavy branches the support, air flow, and sunlight they need to thrive. Rainwater collected from the farm is pumped back up to irrigate the orchard. Beyond producing a harvest of delicious apples each season, the orchard also provides a lovely backdrop for an afternoon picnic.
